If you've only seen pharmacy patches, a herbal one can look like a different product altogether. Underneath, a lot is the same. The differences are mostly on the ingredient label.
What stays the same
Both are transdermal patches. You stick them on clean skin, wear them through the day and replace them daily. Both release their contents gradually through the skin rather than all at once.
What's different: the nicotine source
A typical pharmacy patch lists nicotine as its single active ingredient. Our herbal patch names its source, natural tobacco extract, and states the amount: 7 mg per patch.
What's different: the botanicals
Regular patches don't carry plant ingredients beyond the nicotine. A herbal patch adds them. Ours has three: resveratrol from grape skins, liquorice root, and clove.
What's different: regulation
Pharmacy nicotine patches are regulated medicines, sold with medical claims their makers have had approved. A herbal patch is a different kind of product and makes no such claims. That's why you'll see ingredient facts on this site, not promises about outcomes.
